JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking a Data Center Manager to join the Data Center team at one of our top financial sciences clients. This person will be tasked to be onsite at their Data Center located in Aurora, IL. This individual will be the sole employee of the firm located at this location. He/she will manage the technicians onsite who are from an outside vendor. You will be in constant communication with the team of 5 that are located in the New Jersey Data Centers. This role will be both hands-on and managerial, so this person must have experience racking and stacking, replacing server parts, power cycling, etc. This individual will be in the boat with the onsite technicians to resolve all tickets in a timely manner.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years experience working in a data center
- Experience leading a team of technicians
- Hands on experience with racking & stacking servers, replacing server parts, power cycling
- Strong server hardware knowledge: ports, drives, cabling, server menu
- Comfortable with manual labor, carrying/unloading inventory
- Experience communicating with vendors
