JOB DESCRIPTION
One of Insight Globla’s large Financial Services customers is looking for a Data Governance Manager to support their team out of Daleville, Indiana. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity. For the first 3 months, the manager is looking to have this person work on site with the team to learn the company’s systems and processes. After the 3-month training period, this person will be allowed to work on a hybrid remote schedule, offering 2 remote days a week. This role is responsible for managing and maturing the company’s Data Governance program, ensuring adherence to an enterprise-wide data governance framework. This is a relatively new program for the bank, being in existence for only a couple of years no, and a unique position that allows the DG Program to determine how they use their data. This management role will begin the buildout of a focused Business Intelligence team and this person will be responsible for driving next steps as a group, developing standards and guidelines for future and existing data stewards to follow, and creating requirements for the data monitoring quality program. This person will be over 1 Analyst, and within another year the team will be adding a second Analyst. Experience in the field of data management, specifically data quality, data stewardship, or data governance would be beneficial, as this person will be working with real time data and it’s important this person understands the risk of not having trusted data/that data not being used in a purposeful way for the bank. Experience with metadata tools, data dictionary, or other GRC tools will be helpful in guiding analysts in data lineage, for system flow, and future program operations/value add. It’s also a plus that this person has strong experience in SQL, as it would be beneficial to know when working closer to the Analyst level, tracking data with the team, deciphering SQL code, etc., however you won’t be responsible for writing SQL code. Most of your time in the role will be spent in internal company meetings, understanding the bank’s data sources and value, and understanding what standards and procedures are in place now to develop best practices and standards moving forward.
