Key Responsibilities
- Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with internal audit findings.
- Maintain and upgrade physical security operations and equipment, including CCTV, card access control, key control, scanning/metal detector equipment, dockside video cameras, fencing/gates, etc.
- Monitor equipment specifications and connectivity, liaising with IT to request any necessary repairs.
- Research and evaluate new technology and industry products designed to improve service and reduce cost.
- Establish, conduct, and participate in intradepartmental meetings that involve Security.
- Manage daily security operations, insuring quality service standards are maintained in all phases of security throughout company operations in North America.
- Create and control security teammate scheduling and timekeeping.
- Maintain teammate uniform program.
- Conduct annual performance review/evaluations of security direct reports.
- Develop and update security operations manual (SOP), along with department policies.
What you'll need to succeed
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and related experience; bachelor's degree preferred.
- State law enforcement certification and John Reid certification preferred.
- ASIS membership preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, write effective reports, and present confidently to top management, public groups, and other stakeholders.
- Experience managing a team of up to 10 employees, with strong leadership and dispute resolution skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to effectively utilize all elements to support security policies, procedures, and administrative needs.
