Insight Enterprises is seeking a Sr Systems Engineer to be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems that support core organizational functions. Monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all networked software and associated operating systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Collaborates with infrastructure staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes;
* Works with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues;
* Designs and deploys new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems;
* Responsible design, implement, configure, and maintain various Azure SaaS Cloud Services such as Azure AD, Teams, Intune, OneDrive, AAD Connect, Exchange Online and O365.
* Deploy and maintain Azure IaaS Virtual Machines and Azure Application and Networking Services to support growth into the cloud.
* Support current Hybrid AD structure with the goal to migrate fully into the cloud.
* Comfortable in writing and running PowerShell.
* Conducts research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and support purchasing efforts;
* Interacts and negotiates with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services;
* Gauges the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develops and implements strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems;
* Proposes and creates system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmer and development teams;
* Designs and performs server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies;
* Integrates servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems;
* Creates and maintains documentation related to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records;
* Ensures compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems;
* Coordinates and performs in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems;
* Monitors and tests system performance; prepares and delivers system performance statistics and reports;
* Mentors and provides guidance to System Engineers;
* Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ten (10) or more years of System Engineering experience
Proven experience in Azure SaaS Cloud Services
Proven experience with SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, Exchange Online, O365
Proven experience with PowerShell
Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems and applications
Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
SKILLS
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Good project management skills
Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
