Family Reunification Coordinator (Alabama-Tennessee)

Inspiritus

Summary:

Under the supervision of the Family Reunification Manager and the Assistant Director of Youth & Immigrant Services, the Family Reunification Coordinator will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of Inspiritus’ programs for unaccompanied immigrant children and their sponsors, including Home Study/Post Release Services and Safe Release Support, in Alabama and Tennessee. The coordinator will supervise program staff in these areas and serve as the primary contact between Inspiritus and Lutheran Immigration and Refuge Service (LIRS) for all issues related the programming. The coordinator will ensure that the goals and objectives of these programs are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and within budget. They will work closely with the Family Reunification Manager to monitor collaboration and teamwork among the program staff. They will also cultivate relationships with stakeholders and community resources across service areas. As this position supervises staff out of our Birmingham and Nashville offices, candidates should be located within commuting distance of either office.

  • Mostly Virtual/Remote with some on-site required, Travel (0 25%)
  • Monday through Friday; 8:30AM 5:00PM
  • Salary range: $50,000 - $55,000

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as Personnel Supervisor for all Home Study/Post Release services staff, providing oversight and supervision of adherence to Inspiritus internal policies, professional development, and addressing any programmatic issues that rise to the level of a personnel concern
  • Works collaboratively with LIRS Regional Supervisor for Home Study/Post Release Services to ensure staff meet program requirements and have needed support
  • Works collaboratively with LIRS Safe Release Support project officer and federal government contacts to ensure smooth operation, data fidelity, and appropriate service provision across all Safe Release Support sites
  • With the Family Reunification Manager, facilitates regular monitoring of case files to ensure compliance and completion.
  • Cultivates strong, purposeful relationships with stakeholders to better leverage influence and support the program.
  • Attends meetings, training, workshops and conferences as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  • Ensures the goals and objectives of the program are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and within budgets.
  • Keeps the Family Reunification Manager apprised of issues or challenges.
  • Creates and manages partnerships and relationships with service providers, partner agencies, public systems, and community volunteers.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • MSW degree or master’s degree in Mental Health; minimum 3 years’ experience working with children, minimum of 2 years of previous direct work experience in a culturally diverse environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with Office of Refugee Resettlement programs and policies related to unaccompanied immigrant children
  • Capacity to coach and empower staff and advocate on their behalf.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent computer skills, accurate typing, and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and be able to communicate in a culturally competent manner
  • Must own a personal multi-passenger vehicle, hold a valid Driver’s license and have personal auto insurance and a good driving record.

Physical Demands:
