Title: Prototyper

Location: Redmond, WA

Duration: 6 months

Compensation: $64-84/hr

Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and document rapid prototypes for Glove Program and Research Projects
• Design functional 3D assemblies and component housing for AR/VR accessories
• Sample fabrication techniques on-site
• Perform machine maintenance operations
• Manage materials inventory
• Design hard-to-soft interfaces, specifically for softgoods
• Clearly articulate design decisions to a diverse cross-functional set of internal stakeholders

Must Haves:

• 3 years experience as a prototyper
• Professional degree or equivalent work experience in a design related field
• A portfolio demonstrating creative problem solving abilities through examples of high quality prototyping fabrication work
• Proficiency with design tools such as Solidworks and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with Softgoods Manufacturing
• Familiarity with emerging technologies such as VR/AR, haptics, or wearables
• Fluent in fabricating with a broad spectrum of mediums

Education:

• Degree in design or equivalent
