Position: Assistant Manager/ Site Supervisor – Janitorial Services

Location: Miami, FL

Duration: Full-time Role with Benefits with Tryfacta, Inc.

Job Description:

• Shift Supervisor/ Assistant Manager: The Person holding such position shall have worked as a Custodian for a minimum of two (2) years or have the equivalent experience as well as be experienced in all phases of Janitorial services, including assignment of jobs and supervision of custodial personnel for maximum productivity. "Shift Supervisor" is responsible for on-the-job training of custodial personnel, the day-to-day inspection, and coordination of shift cleaning efforts in their assigned facility to ensure the highest performance standard. "Shift Supervisor" distributes chemicals and cleaning supplies to Custodians to ensure proper chemicals are used for specific tasks. They also provide containers appropriately labeled following OSHA Standards and ensure all work is performed safely. Responds to janitorial calls and emergencies on time. Bilingual speakers in English and Spanish are preferred but optional.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Training:

• Provide on-the-job training to custodial personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
• Supervise custodial personnel to maximize productivity and ensure adherence to established cleaning protocols and schedules.
• Conduct daily inspections of shift cleaning efforts, ensuring compliance with the Standard of Appearance in the Technical Specifications.

Chemical Management:

• Distribute chemicals and cleaning supplies to custodians, ensuring proper usage for specific tasks.
• Ensure OSHA standards appropriately label containers to prevent accidents or mishandling.
• Safety and Emergency Response:
• Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to relevant safety regulations and protocols.
• Respond promptly to janitorial calls and emergencies, coordinating efforts to address issues efficiently and effectively.

Quality Control:

• Conduct regular inspections of work areas to maintain a uniform Standard of Appearance and infection/bacterial control.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary to meet quality standards.
• Coordination and Communication:
• Coordinate with other shift supervisors and custodial personnel to ensure seamless operations and coverage across designated work areas.
• Communicate effectively with management, promptly reporting any issues or concerns and providing updates on shift activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a custodian or in a similar role within the janitorial services industry. Previous experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
• Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of all phases of janitorial services, including cleaning techniques, chemical usage, and equipment operation. Familiarity with OSHA standards related to janitorial work is essential.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and manage custodial personnel effectively. Experience in assigning tasks, providing guidance, and fostering a positive work environment.
• Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and appearance in all work areas.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, management, and other stakeholders.
• Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the operational needs of Tryfacta at the Miami-Dade County Aviation Department (MDAD).
