Job Description
We are looking for a Strategic Marketing Manager to join our expanding team. In this newly created position, you will be responsible for developing and driving strategies focused on organic growth. This will require a strong understanding of customer and industry trends, competitive landscape, and product positioning, which will inform the identification of new growth opportunities within the currently served markets. You will also oversee exploration of new market opportunities, developing business cases and winning strategies including product development roadmaps. Specific responsibilities include:
- Track relevant industry trends, disruptions and developments, and benchmark competitor activities. Take the ownership of utilizing the information to help determine investment priorities and the development of the appropriate business strategies.
- Compile and analyze internal data, and leverage inputs from sales and product management to help develop growth strategies to win market share and create opportunities within our key markets and customers.
- Champion and lead initiatives to investigate new opportunities, develop value propositions and business cases, and pitch ideas and proposals to the relevant cross-functional global stakeholders.
- Liaison with sales, product management, key account management and marketing to support targeted selling, core market expansion and product innovation opportunities. Coach the broader organization on market dynamics and what is needed to win.
- Develop worldwide marketing strategies utilizing the various marketing tools to advance brand awareness, promote solutions and educate partners and customers.
- Identify relevant performance measures and drive accountability for on-going performance against business and strategic objectives by preparing for and leading regular reviews.
- Follow latest industry developments and participate in the relevant industry standard committees such as ASTM and ISO.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a technical or scientific education, a passion for technology and customer driven innovation, and marketing or product/market management experience preferably gained in the capital equipment industry. MBA degree is desired. Additional requirements include:
- Exceptionally self-motivated and directed. Highly motivated and results oriented with the ability to work independently and in a team environment with ability to easily adapt to change, consistently meet deadlines and excellent follow through.
- Proven ability to conduct research related to customers, industries and competitors that contributed to achieving business objectives.
- A global mindset. Must be culturally aware and be able to build constructive and effective relationships across the organization.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to present at all levels of the organization.
- Understanding and experience in B2B capital equipment sales and marketing in a global environment.
- Willingness to travel worldwide (up to 25% but currently restricted due to the pandemic).
