Our high-quality SIPs are manufactured with precision at two factories in Michigan and British Columbia, serving a rapidly expanding customer base across the United States and Canada.
Duties and Responsibilities Include
· Review drawings and advise on most efficient SIP design
· Answer questions from customers, designers, and sales staff regarding SIP design and installation
· Educate and train the internal design team on engineering requirements
· Learn and develop an intimate knowledge of hsbcad, an AutoCAD add-on software, to troubleshoot issues and enhance the program to improve the designer’s efficiency
· Maintain Insulspan’s code listing reports and relationship with the evaluation service
· Evaluate and recommend options for expanding Insulspan’s testing data and code listings
· Maintain and update Insulspan’s Technical Manual; including design guidelines, installation instructions, technical bulletins, and product bulletins
· Collaborate with the marketing department to develop technically accurate and influential marketing materials
· Develop relationships with 3rd party engineering firms to seal SIP drawings
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Architectural, or Mechanical Engineering
· EIT certification required, PE license in at least one state is preferred
· Ability to obtain PE License in additional states
· Minimum 4 years’ experience in engineering residential and/or commercial buildings
· Proficient in analyzing and designing wood structural systems and reviewing shop drawings
· Knowledge of the SIP industry or expertise in energy efficiency and building codes is a plus
· Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity
· Excellent organizational, decision making, and problem-solving skills
· Strong computer skills including AutoCAD Architecture
· Some travel may be required, including travel to Canada
