Job Description

Role Purpose

Wood Mackenzie is going through a transformation, from a business unit within a NASDAQ listed parent company, to an independent organisation. Our more than 2300 WoodMackers are a key differentiator for us. Engaging all colleagues, as we celebrate our 50th anniversary and map out our future, is the opportunity presented in this new role.

Reporting to the Senior Internal Communications Manager (based in the UK) and working as part of the PR & Internal Communications team, you will have a global remit, liaising with colleagues across all WoodMac offices and senior leaders across our functions, to proactively engage with and deliver our internal communications strategy. You'll play an active role in creating and executing global campaigns that bring to life our employee engagement strategy.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support Senior Internal Communications Manager and Director of Internal Comms & PR in planning and delivering regular cadence of internal communication.
  • Craft compelling content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as a staff intranet, digital signage, videos, email communications to effectively convey key initiatives and updates.
  • Develop and execute effective communication strategies to get engagement and alignment among employees.
  • Collaborate across functional teams to ensure consistent and impactful communication.
  • Key project deliverable will be supporting the launch of a new employee engagement platform (integrated intranet and email).
  • Storyboard or translate ideas to the creative team.
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different audiences in the organisation.
  • Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messaging.
  • Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly.
  • Support the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organisational perception and reputation.
  • Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of internal communication efforts and implement improvements as needed.
Qualifications

About You

Experience in a communications team, especially internal communication, for a large organisation, is most sought after. But experience of writing for a variety of different audiences is also desired. General journalistic or marketing experience is beneficial.

  • 3 years experience delivering high-impact internal communications programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal, communication skills. Demonstrated writing ability that is engaging, organised and simple to follow
  • Ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple projects, priorities, stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Thrives in a team environment and has a track record of forging trusted relationships and working collaboratively with senior leaders, multiple stakeholders, and various levels in the organization
  • Able to work autonomously, with limited immediate supervision. Experience of working a remote team advantageous.
  • Creative and innovative
  • Experience with Staffbase or other similar intranet platform highly advantageous.
  • Experience as part of projects such as employee engagement survey, CSR report, technology transformations, diversity initiatives and reporting highly desirable.
  • Crafts compelling content for a wide range of communication channels
  • Works effectively with team and stakeholder group to define priorities and set clear plans to achieve goals
  • Engages in and notifies the right teams internally and coordinates results for sharing best practices
  • Demonstrates a general understanding of company targets: our sectors and products, as well as the competitive landscape this fits into
  • Executes communications tactics with understanding, accuracy and timelines
  • Demonstrates and practice an understanding of WM brand purpose and embraces corporate values
  • Actively finds and implements solutions to problems and challenges
  • Engages with internal stakeholders, is self-motivated, manages own time and prioritises daily and project-based tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Proactively engages with projects.
