Note: This position is open to candidates who are already LOCAL to Austin, Texas. Remote candidates located outside of Texas will not be considered, including those planning to relocate.
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience in both remote and local technical writing roles, creating user manuals, online help, and training materials. Familiarity with Agile methodologies is preferred. This position will be fully remote from Monday to Friday, and we are looking for candidates who are already residing in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and development teams to gather technical information and understand product functionality.
- Create clear and concise user manuals, online help, and training materials for software products and technical documentation.
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of technical content, adhering to established documentation standards.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver documentation within Agile development cycles.
- Continuously update and maintain existing documentation to reflect software updates and improvements.
- Conduct peer reviews to ensure quality and effectiveness of technical content.
- Implement best practices for organizing and presenting complex technical information to end-users.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail in grammar, syntax, and formatting to ensure high-quality documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, creating user manuals, online help, and training materials.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile development environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet documentation deadlines.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and software.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively to a non-technical audience.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and user-friendly technical documentation.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
