Job Posting for Network Consultant (Hybrid/Remote) at Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions

We currently have an opportunity for a Network Consultant to join our Corporate IT team in our Salem, VA, Canton, MA office or remotely nationwide This job is responsible for expert-level network planning, design, implementation and optimization. Develops strategies and direction for network systems solutions using current and emerging technologies (including wireless and VoIP). Determines physical and logical layouts, installing, configuring, and maintaining ICT data and voice networks.

Responsibilities:

Supports the data network infrastructure, installs/moves/adds/changes.
Works extensively with configurations of routers, firewalls, intrusion detection, switches, and servers.
Troubleshoots network problems and performs complex analysis to determine if future problems can be avoided through change or new procedures.
Installs, configures, and maintains network component operating systems.
Provides Tier II and Tier IIII support.
Configures monitoring products/tools to provide proactive notification of problems.
Designs, configures, implements, and supports the various infrastructure components of the network.
Identifies, evaluates and implements new technologies that will keep network current and/or competitive, and improve performance and/or reduce expenses.
Leads systems design/architectural review of network.
Maintains network diagrams and configuration.
Determines what code revisions to implement; tests code revision updates and installs current versions.
Develops strategies and direction for network systems solutions/upgrades using current and emerging technologies with an emphasis on security. Responsible for high-level and long-term licensing and hardware/software lifecycle management
Develop and document the architecture of solutions in their assigned projects, systems, and technologies to meet plans, business objectives and timelines.
Develop and manage the relationship with suppliers to effectively address issues and needs.
Support Azure cloud development initiatives.

Requirements:

Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including current Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and other applicable applications and programs.
Must demonstrate strong technical competence in related technologies thru extensive experience.
Detailed knowledge of network protocols and topologies; network troubleshooting of complex problems; documentation and procedures are essential.
Must have outstanding analytical, decision making, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in configuration of Cisco IOS/NX-OS devices including switches, routers, and wireless controllers
Expert-level knowledge in routing protocols including OSPF and BGP
Support Network automation technologies such as DNA Center and Ansible
Ability to Configure, monitor, and upgrade network tools such as Cisco ISE, Solarwinds, CatTools, etc.
Ability to Support cloud technologies including Azure, Express Route and Palo Alto solutions

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required.
7 – 10 years of IT experience.
Network OS training and certifications.
Industry certification such as CompTIA CASP , CompTIA Cloud , and ISC2 CISSP

Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires but your recruiter will share more specific compensation information with you during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $115,000 – $153,000, based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Hoboken, NJ; and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $135,000 -$158,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include: 401(k) savings and annual contributions of up to 12% of annual salary, competitive paid time off programs, medical, vision and dental plans, mental health support programs, life and disability insurance, paid parental leave and a variety of voluntary benefits.
