JOB TITLE: Human Resources Benefit Specialist
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Non-Exempt
PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Human Resources
POSITION SUMMARY: The HR Benefit Specialist will provide broad and diversified assistance in employee benefit functions, and clerical support to the Human Resources Department. Maintains all employee benefit records, monitors and reconciles payroll deductions, accurately processed monthly employee benefit invoices and monitors Personal Benefit Time and Sick benefit entitlements, etc. Presents benefit information at General Agency Orientation and assists new employees. Generates monthly reporting and general maintenance of information. Provides support in the reception area when needed. Courteously attends to inquiries/concerns of employees and will assess when calls need to be directed to a higher level for assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education, Training & Experience:
Associate’s Degree in Business Communications or a Business School Diploma
One (1) year professional office/clerical experience
Or
High School Diploma or equivalent
Three (3) years of professional office/clerical experience
Preferred Education, Training & Experience:
Experience in Human Resources
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Valid New York State Driver’s license that meets Agency’s driving policy
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Demonstrates excellent organizations skills and the ability to hand multiple priorities and deadlines; detail oriented with accuracy
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing
Demonstrates outstanding interpersonal skills, with a pleasant, professional demeanor
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
SALARY:
$22 per hour starting rate
