Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
• Adheres to Integer Core Value and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain an R&D governance model and communication infrastructure that drive accountability to key metrics (revenue forecast, profitability targets, etc.) and demonstrate alignment between all organizational functions and resources.
• Ensure that lessons-learned and best practices are communicated and implemented across all C&V sites in a structured manner
• Harmonizes and determines best practices for R&D business systems (design controls, lean methodology, knowledge management, etc.) that will facilitate a best-in-class development organization that provides sustained double digit revenue growth
• Provide technical support across the sites and to customers. Resolve issues by assuming ownership of significant technical problems, influencing affected stakeholders, and helping to select and implement solutions that meet the overall team's goal.
• Collaborates with colleagues across the organization and drives standard policies and practices across R&D; collaborates cross functionally to ensure achievement of strategic imperatives for the Product Category and site and function metrics.
• Drive the creation and execution of strategic technology and product roadmaps, including responsibility for all technology initiatives across the business supporting the strategic business plan. Works closely with other departments to ensure proper implementation. Create a strategic technology roadmap that permits the corporation to unleash its full potential.
• Partner with operations and NPI teams to ensure all new programs are designed with DFM principals and processes are developed for scale and affordability.
• Work with the commercial teams to ensure all R&D quotations are an accurate reflection of the design and processes being proposed
• Oversee the compliance and KPI's per the business phase gate process on active development programs
• Ensure the timely completion and proper prioritization of R&D initiatives on budget.
• Drive continuous improvement in the efficiency of the development and NPI Teams by identifying and recommending new approaches, process development best practices, policies, and standard operating procedures
• Assist in developing a high-performance strategic innovation team that thinks, acts, and influences the organization utilizing a common process, working toward a common goal, and that is in alignment with Integer's strategic direction.
• Lead and/or support a team of directors, engineers, technicians and fellow scientists to identify and develop new technologies, product concepts and scalable processes in support of strategic business plans.
• Provide technical input to the Strategic Growth Teams identifying technology trends and market dynamics, technology roadmap, and manufacturing strategies.
• Performs other duties as required. Education & Experience:
• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline. Master's Degree in Business or additional class work in business management strongly preferred.
• Minimum Experience: 12 years of experience in a senior level role for technical management in an R&D environment with a minimum 10 years related to business development, leveraging technology. Knowledge & Skills:
• Special Skills: Ability to interact with and influence senior executives. Ability to partner with cross-functional organizations to successfully drive the business. Proven experience in evaluating new technology and business opportunities, including M&A. Excellent communication skills internal and external (customer focused). Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, presentation and collaborative team-building skills. Ability to plan and make sound business judgements and decisions.
• Specialized Knowledge: Experience in Medical Device Industry preferred. Demonstrated creative thinker; ability to see the "big picture" with ability to synthesize and communicate innovation strategies delivering on company goals.
