Job Summary: The Suicide Care Specialist works with adults living in Travis County to reduce suicide risk through the delivery of suicide care specific evidence-based treatment. Primary responsibilities of the Suicide Care Specialist include timely response and management of referrals for individuals at risk of suicide, conducting appropriate clinical assessment to gage risk, engaging clients in care pathways, delivering evidence-based treatment (i.e. CALM, CASE, ASIST) including developing safety plans with individuals, navigating and transitioning to appropriate clinical care. All services delivered are based on trauma informed and safer suicide practices and promote racial and health equity. The Suicide Care Specialist collaborates with internal programs as well as with referring community organizations to include the Veteran's Administration, Travis County Jail, Austin Victims of Crime, local in-patient psychiatric hospitals, emergency rooms, and other organizations that may need to refer an individual at risk of suicide. Interventions can be both in the office or in the community. Additionally, this position assists the Practice Manager in delivering Suicide Care EMP's to Integral Care employees and community partners.
Qualified Mental Health Clinicians (QMHP): embrace trauma sensitive and informed practices, provide suicide safer care, and foster a supportive and welcoming environment that promotes racial and health equity. QMHPs operate in a dynamic environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate a clinical skill set by forging therapeutic relationships with diverse community members. Interventions and services can be both office and community based and may require the use of a personal automobile. Individuals served may be diagnosed with mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and/or IDD.
Staff members in this position are working under the supervision of a clinically licensed professional who provides ongoing evaluation and oversight of all assessments, diagnoses and treatment. At this level, clinical assignments may be of moderate complexity and are handled with considerable independence, and complicated cases receive closer clinical review and supervision.
Services provided may include individual, family and/or group skills training using evidence-based interventions, crisis assessment, and case management.
Work is performed under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Education:
Required:
- Graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field.
Preferred:
- Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field.
License:
Required:
- Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Experience:

- Bilingual in Spanish.
Hours: Full-Time.
Workdays: Monday-Friday.
Workhours: 8:00am-5:00pm.
Salary: $22.35 - $23.47 an hour.
