Front Desk – Shuttle Driver
The Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe transport of hotel guests on the hotel’s designated schedules and routes. As the first and last point of contact, the Shuttle Driver will have the opportunity to be the first to welcome a guest upon arrival, or provide the lasting impression of their stay as the guest departs, by greeting and opening doors for the guest, while handling all luggage assistance that may be needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Displays courteous behavior and assists guest with their luggage, as well as open the passenger door, using the guest’s name whenever possible.
- Always showing a sense of urgency toward the guest and their needs.
- Follows all traffic laws and maintains a clean driving record. If there is a change in the driver’s record, the General Manager must be informed immediately, including moving violations, at-fault accidents, or suspended license, including incidents while not on hotel time.
- Keeps open communication with the Front Desk at all times.
- Plans a route that will best serve the guest’s needs and estimates the time the trip will require, always aware of assigned pick-ups and requests. Always arrives at the predetermined location on time to pick up any guest.
- Uses knowledge of local area, GPS, and/or mapping applications to avoid high traffic are areas and to ensure the shortest and safest route to the destination.
- Records details of each trip and maintains a Shuttle log, including documenting fuel levels, confirms that the maintenance schedule is up to date and that there are no mechanical issues.
- Keeps the radio on appropriate stations and at a reasonable volume.
- Knows how to use the fire extinguisher in an emergency and how to change a tire.
- Schedules maintenance for the Shuttle through the General Manager.
- Inspects the cleanliness of the Shuttle and confirms it has beverages, if applicable.
- Performs any other duties, including duties of the houseperson position, as assigned.
- Follows all OSHA/HAZCOM procedure.
- Wears appropriate brand required uniform and name tag during all scheduled shifts.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to operate the Shuttle safely
- Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to map appropriate routes and estimate travel times using GPS or standard maps.
- Must submit to DMV background check regularly
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance and ability to diagnose mechanical problems
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to present a neat and professional appearance
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months of related experience highly preferred
- Must have and maintain valid driver's license
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods driving a vehicle
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds at a time tp assist with luggage.
