Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement, the Assistant Director of Community Engagement and Organizing is a mission-critical role, acting as the lead strategist for community safety and justice organizing and engagement on the senior management team, assisting in effective decision-making and programmatic planning in respect to our community and criminal justice programming. The Assistant Director of Community Engagement will assist in leading, planning, and directing the community safety programming and will execute upon this strategy specialized community justice projects. The Assistant Director of Community Engagement will act as the main point of contact between school resource officers, state organizations, law enforcement, and community organizations region wide. You will need the ability to communicate with members of the community in which you work.
- Developing partnerships with key organizations and groups to accomplish the mission of the programs.
- Lead programming devoted to diverting people from the criminal justice system as well as programming for those in the criminal justice system
- Reporting on community safety activities and outcomes to upper management
- Coordinating with community groups and government agencies to schedule meetings, workshops, and other events
- Serves as a professional and enthusiastic ambassador for the agency and its programs.
- Will act as the liaison to other state, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies as necessary in the coverage area
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years professional experience in law enforcement or criminal law.
- 3-5 years’ experience in community-based relations.
Ideal Qualifications
- Previous work with public defenders, the courts, and district attorney’s office.
- Is an attorney who has worked in the local courts.
Wage
- Based on a 40-hr. work week.
- $75,000-90,000
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
