** Hours are Monday through Friday. No Weekends **

· Check equipment is functioning (ie. Camera, light source, etc.) prior to first daily case.

· Set up procedure room(s) according to daily schedule.

· Make sure suction set-ups are clean at the start and end of each day in procedure rooms and PACU.

· Run autoclave spore test on first business day of the week at each site.

· Do weekly and monthly autoclave maintenance and document in appropriate binder.

· Check functioning of Gus Vapor System daily. Change filter every 6 months.

· Perform a RESERT test strip daily (as necessary) and document. Change product monthly and as needed using precaution as per protocol.

· Set up procedure trays as per protocol.

· Do weekly and monthly checks and document in binder.

· Empty dirty laundry bags, place uses bags in closer and replace with a clean bag at the end of each day.

· Tidy procedure room at the end of each day.

· Restock cabinets and carts daily (as needed).

· Replace sharps containers when ¾ full and place in cardboard box for AK Medical Pick Up.

· Assist receptionist with tasks when needed.

· Assist nurses with duties covered under scope of practice (admit patient, check blood sugars, vital signs, calls, charts and scanning

May draw labs if Phlebotomy certified and approved by Clinical Nurse Supervisor. Put away clean laundry and assess linen inventory daily to ensure that there is enough laundry inventory until the next delivery date. Inform charge RN of any discrepancies so that call/e-mail may be placed to laundry service.

· Order supplies.

· Stock kitchen supplies and assess need to order supplies.

· Make generic blank charts.

Requirements

· High School graduate or equivalent.

· Medical Assistant Training (BOCES, etc.)

· Medical Assistant Certification. (preferred, but not necessary)

· Medical Terminology )preferred, but not necessary).

· PPD Annual Test
