Responsibilities and Expectations:

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Quality / Continuous Improvement Process Solutions Coordinator for our Detroit Service Center. As a Quality / CIPS Coordinator for IPS, you will apply Servant Leadership principles to build trust and open communication as you manage the IPS quality management systems. This position will also manage quality activities to ensure that all manufacturing, repairs, services, supplied material and contract work meet customer requirements and reduce warranty and shop rework. As part of this role, you will facilitate the shop maturity operating system of CIPS (Continuous Improvement Process Solutions) with the shop leadership team.

  • Monitor, improve and train staff in policies, procedures, work instructions, and documentation as necessary to ensure practical implementation and compliance to customer, company, and system requirements
  • Manage required activities to comply and maintaining ISO – 9001 standards with possible future certification.
  • Implement inspection plans for purchased material, contract work, work in progress, and completed repairs
  • Perform supplier audits and maintain score card for key suppliers
  • Perform internal audits, independent of repair personnel, at critical points in the repair process
  • Facilitate implementation of CI best practices across the facility
  • Guide management and staff in evaluating repair processes to verify process controls and conformance to specifications and procedures
  • Guide management and staff in achieving improvements that provide a competitive advantage in capability, quality, and cycle time
  • Conduct regular audits. Through management, implement corrective actions and system improvements to eliminate deficiencies identified during audits
  • Ensure quality records are kept and maintained to identify opportunities for improvements, make informed decisions and to provide evidence of quality performance
  • Collect and analyze quality performance data and provide regular summaries of quality performance metrics and activities as requested by management
  • Implement and conduct quarterly quality management reviews
  • Develop, update, and own the continuous improvement processes, metrics, and any associated tools
  • Participate in team meetings, risk sessions, and all decision-making concerning execution of improvement projects
  • Lead, promote and educate team on IPS and industry best practices
  • Inspect the facility to detect existing or potential noncompliance and recommend corrective or preventive measures when necessary
  • Review contracts and specifications to assure customer requirements are incorporated into the work planning.
  • Generate motor inspection and repair reports that validate compliance to internal and customer repair specifications.
  • Cross-train in other functional areas of the business to become familiar with departmental responsibilities and obstacles for implementation of continuous improvement practices and to provide support when needed.

  • Strong project management skills and process orientation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite tools
  • Ability to be innovative, creative and a proven self-motivated, team-oriented attitude
  • Attentive and active listening skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, such as the ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization and within a presentation setting
  • Experience balancing strategy and execution, ability to get ‘hands-on’ with the business while understanding the processes needed to deliver results
  • Ability to become qualified as a Lead Auditor in accordance with the IPS Quality Management System (training provided by IPS)
