Description
The Facility Coordinator oversees and supervises the operation of the health and mental health services; coordinates with nursing/clinic staff and the medical director to ensure mission and objectives of the contract meet objectives while staying within allotted budget. Work is performed under the direction of the Health Services Administrator in coordination with the facility commander, who reviews work primarily based on results attained and conformance to established policies, procedures and standing orders.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS
REPORTS TO: Clinical and Administrative supervision provided by the Director of Nursing
SUPERVISES: Provides administrative supervision to staff assigned to the facility he/she is responsible for. If a position is filled by a licensed employee, they will provide clinical supervision within the scope of their license.
Requirements
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises subordinate employees including assigning and reviewing work, evaluating performance, taking necessary disciplinary action, and effectively recommending on hiring and termination decisions.
Develops, implements, evaluates, and revises program policies, procedures, work methods and action plans.
Prepares budget recommendations and monitors budgets in areas of responsibility.
Provides consultation and professional/technical assistance to staff, as necessary. Coordinates with jail staff to ensure compliance with all law enforcement regulatory requirements.
Provides information to the media and health providers in the community on public health concerns/issues relating to areas of responsibility. Coordinates with Public Health and Sheriff assigned PIO on release of
information.
Participates in program specific training and updates as needed.
Participates as part of the Public Health management team in planning for program development and implementation, staffing and budgetary concerns.
Oversee compliance with clinic programs as well as communicable disease program.
Upon receiving the necessary training and/or instruction, performs other related duties as required or assigned.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Associate degree in administration or management; or bachelor’s degree in administration or management preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years progressively more responsible office experience, including supervisory and administrative responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: If candidate has a licensing requirement must be in good standing in the State of California and current CPR Certification
