JOB DESCRIPTION
The Business Technology Project/Program Management Consultant leads the planning, scheduling and management of projects and programs, applying technical and managerial skills to satisfy business, technology and systems project objectives.
As a Business Technology Project/Program Management Consultant, your primary goals and focus will be to:
- Integrate into the client environment to effectively lead project teams while building positive professional relationships with clients and associates.
- Define project objectives, requirements, and assumptions necessary to structure a project or activity.
- Plan, schedule, and control project activities to fulfill objectives and satisfy project requirements.
- Develop and drive integrated project plans, aligning project tactics with project strategy.
- Establish, maintain, and lead high performance project teams, serving as the project advocate within the client organization. Lead, coordinate, facilitate, and motivate all associated project resources to gain alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Lead risk management within project teams, ensuring risks have appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
- Manage projects within established scope, schedule, and budget while meeting and exceeding IPM project management standards.
- Develop and document high-level strategies for accomplishing specific project objectives.
- Facilitate and lead effective project meetings, manage change and conflict, and develop resource planning estimates to manage project workload and productivity.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate for the Business Technology Project/Program Management Consultant position will possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, science, or an engineering discipline. Advanced degrees are a plus
- 5-20 years of experience as a key project team member or project leader implementing complex, enterprise business technology initiatives or transformations:
- For the Life Sciences industry: 5 years of project management experience in business process assessments and/or continuous improvement efforts related to enterprise systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) , Quality Management Systems (QMS), Regulatory Information Management Systems (RIM), Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS), Safety Systems, Document Management Systems, Project and Portfolio Management Systems (PPM) and/or Human Resource Information Management (HRIS)
- For Other Industries: 5 years of project management experience in business process assessments and/or continuous improvement efforts related to enterprise systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) , Quality Management Systems (QMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Supply Chain Systems (SCM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Project and Portfolio Management Systems (PPM) and/or Human Resource Information Management (HRIS).
- Familiarity and knowledge of documenting processes, collecting and authoring functional and non-functional requirements and establishing software & implementation vendor selections for enterprise systems
- Familiarity and knowledge of key software leaders (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, NetSuite, Veeva, Planisware, Workday, Infor, etc.) and their platforms and how they differ from each other
- Familiarity with data strategy and management including the ability to develop and interpret analytics to guide business strategy and decision making
- Knowledge and application of a disciplined project management process (Six Sigma and Project Management Professional certifications are a plus)
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall methodologies
