What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent position at Integrated Talent Strategies?
Responsibilities:
The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.1. Responsible for the full performance of every phase of a major project or a group of small projects including capital planning, inception, design, construction, commissioning/validation and project closeout.
2. Oversees the planning, directing, supervising, and controlling of all technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of contractual and capital project management activities.
3. Responsible for project execution, delivering period spending, forecasting period spend maximum opportunities and updating the projected final costs in accordance with the approved plan.
4. Maintains knowledge of project work flow processes.
5. Responsible for clarifying all areas of scope and ensures stakeholder alignment.
6. Reviews contractor knowledge/expertise determining the level of detailed engineering required and selection of core team members or outside specialists matched to the project technical content.
7. Implements new strategies throughout the project work flow integrating them in the project execution plan.
8. Develops an integrated aligned design and construction strategy.
9. Maintains thorough understanding of the start-up process and project closeout process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Masters Degree degree in Engineering or Construction Management is desired or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Registration preferred. PMP Certification preferred.
- Ideally, 10 years of related field construction management experience with at least five (5) years in project management.
- Knowledge of building construction, scheduling and cost control, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.Attentive to detail, follow-up procedures and documentation of action.
- Good facilitator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
