Navy Training Program Manager

Overview

i3 is seeking an experienced Navy Training Program Manager to be responsible for cost, schedule, and performance of Virtual Training application development, interactive multimedia instruction (IMI) technology projects, and provide subject matter expertise on Navy training requirements and standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in project management, managing software or systems engineering teams, and interfacing/briefing Corporate Executives and DoD customers. Candidate must be creative, adaptive, energetic, and able to assist in the development of virtual training solutions for weapon system employment.

This position is contingent upon contract award expected January/February 2024.

Responsibilities

Candidate should have experience in Agile software development processes and procedures. You should be able to capture customer requirements and develop a work breakdown structure to architect a clear vision of product direction. You should possess excellent communications and analytical skills; knowledge of Interactive Multimedia Instruction a plus. You will work closely with customers, supervisors, instructional systems designers, software designers, software engineers and 3D artists to create interactive mobile, web, augmented reality, virtual reality, desktop training systems, serious games, and distributed learning simulations. You will conduct product demonstrations and be able to clearly communicate our robust training development capabilities.

The ideal candidate is capable of providing on-site customer interaction, evaluation of GFI, and leadership in the development of courseware design documentation. You will conduct short term, mid-term, and long term planning for the business entity and the government programs your team supports. You will coordinate daily tasks and work with government customers, support contractors and Team i3 project and functional leads to ensure compliance with project management plans and integrated master schedules. Other duties include: tracking project costs and schedules, generation and explanation of reports to provide updates to management and Government customers. You will provide team leadership and guidance through design meetings, storyboard creation and software content validation; quickly adapt to changing workloads, collaborate with your team and other business units to provide software solutions, following best practices ensuring a high-quality standard. This is a fast-paced work environment with plenty of room for creativity, expression and growth. As a hiring manager you will conduct or oversee interviews to grow program team size to match program work scope to meet cost schedule performance metrics.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

• Preparing and conducting a Program Kick Off
• Bachelors Degree and 12 years of experience required
• Managing program costs and schedule
• Managing personnel, with a direct report team size of at least 8 personnel and overall size of 50
• Experience with Agile Scrum development methodology and associated tools
• Coordinating the efforts of multiple teams towards a common goal
• Experience with DOD contracts, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and the Joint Capability Iintegration and Development System (JCIDS)
• Candidate must have or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Experience:

• Experience managing a software development team is a plus
• Active duty experience with the US Navy is plus
• Familiarity with Department of the Navy training requirements
• Familiarity with electronics training
• Formal experience as an instructor is a plus
