What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Integrity Dental?
* Need to have 1 year experience in a Medical or Dental field*
- Greet and Seat patients.
- Spend time with the patient in the operatory with the patient while waiting for the doctor.
- Assist the doctor during dental procedures.
- Prepare syringe with local anesthetic for the doctor.
- Make radiographs and process them to be viewed.
- Assist doctor with dental charting and updating patient’s health history.
- Set up instruments and supplies needed in the operatories for the desired procedures.
- Take blood pressure or blood sugar readings on patients when needed.
- Review consent forms and Post Operative Instructions (POI) with patients when needed.
- Polish and floss patient’s teeth following a prophylactic cleaning or scaling and root planning.
- Clean up and disinfect operatories and put materials away as well as take instruments to sterilization once procedures are complete.
- Change suction filters in operatories and at the suction pump as needed.
- Keep supplies stocked in the operatories and monitor expiration dates on perishable supplies.
- Consult with dental supply representatives and order supplies needed when quantities are low.
- Unpack shipments of supplies and put them away when they arrive.
- Make dental impressions and pour them up to make casts/models.
- Trim casts/models and assist with custom tray fabrication.
- Package lab cases for respective labs and take lab cases to the post office or UPS as appropriate.
- Unpack lab cases received and give invoices to front desk.
- Maintain lab area clean and lab materials stocked.
- Empty all trash at the end of the work day.
- Sterilize dental instruments and disinfect trays.
o Process cold sterile instruments
o Place instruments in ultrasonic for debridement then remove from ultrasonic and package them for sterilization.
o Clean, lubricate and sterilize hygiene, slow speed and high speed hand pieces.
o Remove impression trays from solution and debride, then sterilize them to be reused.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checks and tasks as written on the calendar.
o O2, First Aid Kit, Fire Extinguisher, AED, Weekly Wipe-downs, Clean Sterilizers, Change Sterilizer seals, etc.
- Assist Hygienists with:
o Setup and cleanup of their operatories.
o Sterilization of their instruments.
o Periodontal Charting.
o Making and processing radiographs.
o Assembling patient toothbrush bags.
- Assist Front Desk with:
o Answering telephones and making appointments.
o Updating patient charts.
o Folding statements and putting them in envelopes and placing postage on them.
o Writing in charts as appropriate (notes, prescriptions, postop calls, etc.)
o Any task front desk needs help with.
- Dismiss patients and give post operative instructions to patients or their guardians.
- Perform or assist with CPR as appropriate.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
