Come join the Platform Capabilities and Applications Engineering (PCAE) team in NEX IOTG as the Edge Cloud System Debug Lead. PCAE is a vibrant and growing team, at the forefront of enabling the edge transformation, developing software-defined solutions based on cloud and distributed computing technologies. This engineering team is looking for someone with a system engineering background and is a generalist with a balanced understanding of software and hardware. You should be a highly motivated engineering leader, comfortable with ambiguity and possess excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate is pro-active and is always the one who materially drives projects forward, without them, it doesn't happen.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Delve into the entire systems software stack including firmware, drivers, operating systems, middleware, and application-level SW architectural concepts.
- Comprehend the holistic hardware platform including CPU, memory, GPU, accelerators, networking, and storage.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve bottlenecks, anomalies, and hotspots.
- Discuss and resolve ambiguous and deep technical problems, either on your own or through other subject matter experts.
- Manage stakeholders across NEX, including platform planners, product managers, architects, technical leads, ecosystem partners, and customers (internal and external).
- Leverage the strengths of IA (Intel Architecture) and adjacencies to optimize and clearly demonstrate Intel differentiation.
- Using technologies like virtualization, containers, orchestration, telemetry, edge services, and workload consolidation, showcase value of software-defined edge solutions.
- Driven by workloads and applications, comprehend end-to-end use cases to drive value add to the vertical business units and the ecosystem.
- Build proof-of-concepts to incubate state of the art edge and cloud technologies.
- Tailored to the audience, author impactful presentations and documentation capturing the essence and impact of the engineering output.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline with 9 years of industry experience.
- Experience triaging and debugging system level performance issues, with shown capability to work across the company to identify collaborators to resolve issues.
- Experience leading (indirectly) cross-functional teams composed primarily of technical resources for performance analysis, workload analysis, debug, and modeling.
- Experience working with hardware platforms and software ingredient stacks, including CPUs, chipsets, accelerators, memory and storage solutions, networking, system-wide software frameworks, device drivers, operating systems, and ecosystem.
- Experience in one or more technologies including containerization, orchestration like Kubernetes, VMware Tanzu, Red Hat OpenShift, virtualization.
- Hands-on agile software engineering including Helm charts, scripting (like Python) and programming languages (like Golang).
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or a PhD degree preferred.
- Background in operating systems internals and drivers like Linux and RTOS.
- Experience with one or more development toolkits and SDKs like OpenVINO, Intel MARS, DPDK, Nvidia CUDA, etc.
- Have technical experience working with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs).
