What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Design Designer position at Intel?
The Xeon Engineering Group (XEG) Group is searching for an energetic and driven physical design team member to tackle the planning, design, and verification of design components underlying Xeon-class SOCs on cutting-edge process nodes.
Participates in the definition, specification, design verification and documentation for SoC (System on a Chip) component development, specifically targeted to the server class designs. Defines module interfaces and formats for simulation. Performs Logic design for integration of cell libraries, functional units and subsystems into SoC full chip designs. Register Transfer Language (RTL) coding and simulation for SoCs. Contributes to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Performs all aspects of the SoC design flow from high level design to synthesis place and route timing and power, to create a design database that is ready for manufacturing.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related field with 3 years of relevant experience in SOC / system design/verification. OR MS degree:
Your experience must include the following:
- Silicon-based product development
- Experience with design dealing with various types of external interfaces like DDR PCIe or similar
- The ability to work as an individual and as part of a team to deliver a product starting from establishment of design specs and through design verification and tape out qualification
- Expertise in coordinating with and designing complex IPs from different sources and integrating into the same SOC
- Understanding system and package implications of the silicon design decisions
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ASIC-based designs
- Experience implementing new flows based on industry standard tools
- Experience design for and working with multiple fabs and technology nodes
- RTL coding experience
- Automation and coding skills
