We are looking for our newest Staff Accountant. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Staff Accountant will assist with month end closing, accounts receivable and accounts payable, bank and credit card reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years general accounting experience and intermediate MS Excel skills. QuickBooks experience is a plus. As we strongly believe in developing talent, we would be open to candidates that are still in the process of completing their college degree. - Provide timely & accurate accounting information for real estate and appraisal companies.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and address any discrepancies.
- Support all functions with Assistant Controller and Controller.
- Perform daily cash management duties, including daily bank deposits, updating cash receipts, posting cash.
- A/P and A/R functions including check request, vendor calls, ACH payments.
- Entry and payment of expense and mileage reports.
- Maintain records required for year-end reconciliations and audit assistance.
- Collect and code company credit card purchases and billback to properties and sister companies.
- Demonstrate regular use of judgment and discretion to solve problems and/or resolve issues that may arise; clear understanding of when to address issues and when to elevate issues to Manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role or a current college attendee.
- Excellent computer knowledge and proficiency in Excel. Experience using Quickbooks Online accounting software preferred.
- Excellent communication and organization skills, with the ability to respond clearly, quickly, and effectively.
- Must be organized, dependable and detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of financial terms and principles.
