Title: Automation Technician

Location: Elkhart, Indiana

Responsibilities

SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• with items such as the assembly of electrical cabinets, termination of wires, routing cables, and installing components (sensors, etc.) within a work cell.
• to read and follow electrical schematics. The candidate should be able to follow callouts on electrical schematics.
• of basic mechanical assembly of components and assemblies. Assist in the assembly and installation of mechanical components such as mounting plates, brackets, work cell subassemblies, robotic end-of-arm tooling, and machine guarding.
• and follow basic mechanical drawings in the execution of equipment build and assembly. Candidates would be able to read basic mechanical part drawings as well as mechanical assembly drawings.
• closely with internal cross-functional teams, contractors, suppliers, and outside vendors to achieve desired results.
• as part of a functional team under the direction of the assigned project manager in the timely execution of projects. Includes providing status updates for assigned tasks and activities. Develop and refine skills related to robotics, controls, safety systems to support both project execution and training of operational staff.

Travel will be necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• degree in electrical engineering technology or related degree preferred. Solid experience in hands-on engineering and fabrication. Possessing the ability to perform electrical troubleshooting on AC and DC circuits. Ability to edit or program electrical devices requiring proprietary software such as PLC’s, HMI’s, robots, safety controllers, etc....
• skills to operate machining equipment such as a drill press, lathe, Bridgeport machine. Possessing welding
• (MIG and/or TIG). Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and 3D CAD platforms.
