Resource can report to either the Lansing or Detroit office for their onsite days depending upon their location, however, minimal occasional visits to the other location (Lansing/Detroit) may be required for trainings/conferences.
Interview Process: Interviews will be held in-person. Candidates MUST be available for an in-person interview.
Remote or On-site: Local candidates ONLY. Candidates must be within 2 hours of Lansing or Detroit. (Please do NOT submit candidates who need to relocate) Will need to be onsite starting day 1 for hybrid work schedule which is onsite 2 days a week (Monday and Tuesday). NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION.

This System Analyst position will support LEO – E & T workforce development applications, One Stop Management Information System (OSMIS), OSMIS Dashboard, Career Explorer, Michigan Adult Education Reporting System (MAERS) and Information Management, Performance, and Customer Tracking (IMPACT).
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as System/Business Analyst conducting Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with Customers and requirement gatherings.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in software testing
- Minimum 1 year of RDBMS / SQL experience
- Preferred experience in Agile/Scrum
- Experience in SAP BO is a plus.
Job duties of this position include but not limited to:
- Requirement gathering, business process analysis/improvement, requirements management and software testing; Assess “As Is” and “To Be” processes and document gaps; collect end-user requirements for improving business processes and software via interviews, focus groups and other stakeholder discussions.
- Categorize/segment similar requirements and create additional requirements that address client pain points.
- Maintain up-to-date requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test plans (in Excel, word docs, Microsoft Azure), and run reports on the same to inform management discussions.
- Facilitate planning and requirements meetings, understand, and create solutions to improve user experience, agile product development support; participate in Sprint ceremonies.
- Collaborate with product development team to translate requirements into technical specifications for the proposed solution; design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
- Maintain reusable scripts, technical documentation, and specifications; develop user stories and initial wireframes to guide the architecture of the proposed solution; develop software test plans.
- Participate in regression testing, quality assurance testing, user acceptance testing and conduct necessary sessions/focus groups with users to capture feedback on functionality being developed within each agile sprint; translate user feedback into refined requirements for development team.
- Serve as liaison between client business users and development team, communicating and interpreting requirements and technical solutions.
- Collaborate to elicit new product ideas and improve existing solutions; program management documentation support, including developing high-quality presentations for client meetings; and participate in team and customer meetings, documenting notes and action items; basic knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), Structured Query Language (SQL) and Microsoft products Word, Excel and Visio.
