Description / Job Summary

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Distribution Associate is responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purpose of accurate shipping, processing and receiving, which includes but is not limited to unloading, scanning, moving, staging, loading, locating, relocating, and stacking product as well as repackaging product when necessary, counting and inspecting product, and notifying the appropriate person whenproduct is damaged.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training;

Combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of requirement

Has a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.Excel skills should be at an intermediate level.

TRAINING

Training will be provided if needed on;

SAP computer program.

Material Handling Equipment.Employee will be certified on all equipment in the facility

AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING

Minimal, however must display willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions;

JOB TASKS AND DUTIES

Receiving

Unload inbound shipments safely and moves products to the correct destination. Efficiently stage and load the products in the appropriate areas.

Quality

Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Documents and Communicates all variances and damages

Properly labels and handles shipments, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped according to the paperwork.

Perform loading duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.

Loading

Efficiently move product from staging and / or unloading areas into the correct load door and the assigned trailer.

Equipmen t

Must be licensed / certified prior to operating assigned material handling equipment, which can include, but is not limited to Forklift, Double Reach , and Pallet Jack.

Inspects equipment daily and maintains a neat, clean, and orderly work area.

Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner at all times

Other Duties

Performs inventory, general pick lists, etc. with SAP computer system.

Maintains all applicable documentation

Abides by all Company policies including, but not limited to, Safety, Environmental, and Plant rules; OSHA and MSDS Standards, and Good Housekeeping practices

  • Performs other duties as required to support the overall mission of the Department.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
  • Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

Ability to use and quickly move fingers and hands to grasp, lift, manipulates and assembles objects.

Ability to stand and change positions frequently in a 8hour period

Ability to bend, stretch, twist, and reach with body, arms and legs

Ability to repeatedly or continuously lift up to 40 lbs

Must possess a range of vision ability, including distance, color and low light vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to work cautiously but efficiently in conditions consistent with a production plant including but not limited to exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals , and airborne particles
  • Ability to work in a moderately loud to loud environment
  • Ability to maintain consistent pace in an environment that is extremely hot and humid in summer months and cold in winter months
