MDCB Warehouse Associate Supervisor

Plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or production department to ensure a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

• Reviews bills of lading for incoming merchandise and customer orders in order to plan work activities.
• Assigns workers to specific duties, such as verifying amounts of and storing incoming merchandise and assembling customer orders for delivery.
• Establishes operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and keeping of warehouse inventory.
• Coordinates activities of distribution warehouse with activities of sales, record control, and purchasing departments to ensure availability of merchandise.
• Directs reclamation of damaged merchandise.
• Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the Warehouse mission in an effective and efficient manner.
• Develops and recommends annual budget requirements for the Warehouse.
• Provides appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials.
• Abides by all Company policies, including, but not limited to Safety, Environmental, and Plant rules; practices good housekeeping at all times.
• Performs other duties as required to support the mission of the department and Plant.

• Evaluates the effectiveness of and recommends alternatives for work methods, procedures, controls and staffing to achieve accurate and timely movement and processing of product.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of storage layout to ensure its optimal alignment for maximum efficiency as inventory needs require
• Monitors daily operations and alerts appropriate management of concerns or opportunities
• Manages all processes and functions to support inventory accuracy in Finished Goods, Raw Materials (put away, location, count, picking, packing, shipping coordinators, shipping) and receiving accuracy.
• Establishes sound process improvements; initiatives that drive year over year improvement
• Develops space utilization plans to meet prescribed cost and service standards
• Develops procedures to ensure the efficient operation of material handling equipment
• Prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment
• Maintain direct link through timely communication and follow up with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse and distribution activities with activities of other functions such as Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, Finance, Traffic, Claims, Customer Service, Production Planning, Inventory Control, and Human Resources.  All inquiries and communications are responded within a timely manner in a professional manner.

• Directly supervises employees in the Distribution Department.Carries out lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problem.

One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software.
