Job Summary: The Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing all financial activities of the company. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to management and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain financial reporting systems and processes.
- Accounting Management:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of accounts.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and analyze variances.
- Provide insights and recommendations for financial planning.
- Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop and enforce internal controls and accounting policies.
- Coordinate and manage external audits and tax filings. Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial data and trends to support decision-making.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for management.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Systems and Processes:
- Implement and maintain accounting systems and software.
- Streamline financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay current with industry best practices and technological advancements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 5 years) in a senior accounting or financial management role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full-time position with standard office hours.
