Position Description
Supervisor: CFO
The primary purpose of this role is to provide contracting support to Inter-Fluve’s Project Managers. The timely development and implementation of contracts in support of projects is critical to the success of our client-driven business.
Pursuit Phase Support:
Support Business Development efforts by reviewing potential clients Requests for Proposals or other solicitations for services for referenced or included contractual terms. Review and inform pursuit team of pricing/billing requirements per contract/solicitation/client. When applicable and requested by the PM, create teaming agreements and/or subcontract terms from templates in coordination with CFO.
Contracting Support:
Review and/or create client contracts for consulting services to avoid potential disputes and reduce risks. Draft contract provisions and amendments in collaboration with CFO. Review sub-consultant contract terms and conditions. Coordinate with the CFO and CEO on response to contract issues that are unusual or fall outside of insurance limits for potential review by outside counsel.
Please note that this position is not an internal counsel role.
Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota or Hood River, Oregon
Work Schedule
This position is based out of our Hood River, Oregon or Saint Paul, Minnesota office and will ideally be in the office 5 days per week. The nature of this position ideally requires frequent office presence to engage personally with administrative and technical staff.
Quarterly travel to Bozeman, Montana, or in person meetings in other company offices for a minimum of three full days in the office is required for the first 18 months of the position to support training and coordination with our CFO.
Required Qualifications
- Three to six years of professional work experience in a similar role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask on several projects and staff simultaneously.
- Ability to work under multiple deadline pressures required.
- Knowledge of current and legally binding contractual language and terminology, ideally within the A/E industry.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and suggest solutions for contractual conflicts.
- Clear adherence to company policies and procurement rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of negotiation best practices, both in-person and in written form, that considers cultural norms and the clients’ best interests (i.e. negotiation with indigenous entities).
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment required.
- Candidate must be willing to work occasional over-time.
- Position requires some travel to other offices (~10%). Also see position description note on travel for initial travel expectations.
Additional Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting and 3 - 6 years related experience or the equivalent combination with a minimum of 2 years working in a contract management role.

- Proven ability to establish and grow relationships with internal and external partners.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams on complex projects and programs with tight deadlines.

Essential Duties
- Prepare contractual agreements using current Inter-Fluve template, a knowledge of a client's needs, and understanding of Inter-Fluve’s ability to fulfill its requirements.
- Review and actively support quality assurance plan for contract review, sub-consultant contracting, project set-up, and project close-out.
- Review contract terms and conditions provided by clients to verify that they are in compliance with Inter-Fluve policies, insurance policies, and industry (ACEC, ASCE) standards of practice.
- Clearly explain contract terminology to clients, Inter-Fluve staff, and other interested parties in simple, everyday language.
- Self-monitor progress and schedule, manage contract prioritization with the CFO and CEO, and strive to deliver all documents in a timely manner.
- Proofread, edit, and fact-check contract documents for accuracy and consistency.
- Develop sub-consulting agreements based on established Inter-Fluve templates.
- Collaborate with administrative and technical team.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Act independently to prioritize tasks in the absence of specific instructions and exercise independent judgment to identify and solve problems.

The expected salary range for this position is $65,000 - $90,000.
This position will remain open until filled. Inter-Fluve cannot support international work visas.
