CCBHC- Licensed Creative Art Therapist

JOB TTTILE: Licensed Creative Art Therapist (LCAT)

REPORTS TO: CCBHC Program Director

DEPARTMETN: CCBHC

We believe that in-person operations are the best way to serve our clients, both directly and through essential operational support. This position requires in-person attendance with a team at 4 Brooklyn school clinic locations and one community clinic location in support of the SBIRT Project.

Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Core Services includes:

  • Crisis mental health services including 24-hour mobile crisis teams, emergency crisis intervention, and crisis stabilization; Screening, assessment, and diagnosis including risk assessment; Patient-Centered treatment planning or similar processes, including risk assessment and crisis planning; Outpatient mental health and substance use services; Outpatient clinic primary care screening and monitoring of key health indicators and health risk; Targeted case management; Psychiatric rehabilitation services; Peer support, counselor services, and family support services; and, Intensive community-based mental health care for members of the armed forces & veterans.

SUMMARY: The Licensed Creative Art Therapist will join the CCBHC Substance Use Treatment team to provide various creative art therapies in groups to CCBHC clients. The SU team is part of the CCBHC program, which is dedicated to integrating treatment for mental health, substance use and primary medical care. The person will actively provide creative art therapy group support services to assist individuals with improving their motivation, coping and building personal strengths to deal with challenges to their recovery. The person will assist the SU team with developing a person-centered recovery plan with the provision of therapeutic services during treatment and with the aftercare experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Provide comprehensive creative art group therapy services for CCBHC SU clients members that meet emotional, physical, cognitive, social/cultural and communicative needs appropriate to the process of recovery and trauma informed care.
  • Document creative art therapy interventions in client charts in a timely and thorough manner, including initial assessments, progress notes and additions to treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with CCBHC staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team on clinical care planning and issues revealed through creative art therapy sessions.
  • Present educational in-services about creative art therapy to SU and CCBHC staff.
  • Develop and maintain graduate creative art therapy internship program through collaboration with local universities and child life leadership, as assigned.
  • Actively participate in clinical group supervision to support an integrated team approach to person-centered care that is EBP and reflects best practices.
  • Maintain accurate creative art therapy session statistics in quality assurance efforts.
  • Support case management services for community referrals at discharge as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date progress notes, correspondence regarding client, treatment plans, and termination summaries within required timeframes.
  • Development and coordination of treatment plan with patient, et. al. for participants in group activities.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations, accreditation standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in audits and reviews to ensure adherence to program requirements and standards.
  • Complete agency training to improve cultural competency and trauma informed

care as they align to CCBHC MCT and Agency specific mission.

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Available to travel/work evening and weekend hours as required by the grant and agency needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the CCBHC Interdisciplinary Team as well as external agencies and community stakeholders.
  • Attend required management and staff meeting. Complete CCBHC and organizational trainings.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years working with mental health and substance use, preferred
  • Knowledgeable about the intersection of mental health, substance misuse, criminal justice system and chronic health conditions.
  • Experience with adults and teens, preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient with word processing, electronic health records, and electronic communications.
  • Well organized with strong time management skills.
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation regarding identifying client needs and obtaining related resources.
  • Knowledgeable about the intersection of mental health, substance misuse, criminal justice system and chronic health conditions.
  • Experience in providing crisis management in a mental health treatment environment.
  • Experience navigating behavioral health systems and substance treatment systems.
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including being able to maintain a professional temperament with both clients and colleagues.
  • Able to meet program standards in documenting in client records.
  • Ability to work with challenging clients.
  • Comfortable with community outreach and home visits.
  • Comfortable and competency working with racially, culturally, religiously and ethnically, linguistically, differently abled diverse communities, including but not limited to BIPOC and LGBTQ communities.
  • Bilingual skill in a language other than English valued.

  • Master's Degree
  • LCAT

SALARY RANGE: 90-95K (Based on experience and licensure/certification. )
