The Interfaith Association of NW Washington is proud to be partnering with our community to find our next “Executive Director” for our Homeless Family Shelter.
Located just north of Seattle, in Snohomish County, Washington, Interfaith Homeless Family Shelter is looking for a full-time, experienced leader with a passion for working with the homeless population, a team of approximately 16 staff, and an active Board of Directors.
Our Mission is “United in Service to Families, with Children, facing Homelessness”. We are very proud our track record that 80% of our clients successfully transition from homelessness into permanent housing within 90 days, and 94% of them are still housed one year later.
The Executive Director (ED) will lead a team of skilled professionals and volunteers. Reporting to a ten-member Board of Directors, the ED is fully responsible for the day-to-day programs and financial operations under the policy guidance of the Board of Directors and the Board committees. The ED is the face of the Shelter in the local community and will be the key internal leader for managing a $1.8 million 2024 Budget.
The ideal candidate will be a confident, innovative, compassionate individual that leads in a collaborative and inclusive manner. This goal-oriented, experienced leader will embrace and implement our mission throughout all duties performed. The qualified candidate will serve as the leader of the management team, staff, and volunteers, helping to evaluate and prioritize projects and opportunities. They will be a strong leader who can navigate calmly in a dynamic, fast-paced, and rapidly evolving environment.

In close partnership with the Board of Directors, this person will promote the implementation of our recent strategic plan to promote and augment revenue growth and operating efficiency to further its mission and articulate its vision as a strong and valuable community resource for generations to come, as needed and if needed.
The ED will leverage their passion and skills to lead the development of a shared vision and strategic plans that excite and enlist the staff and Board, partners, donors, and supporters. With a strong commitment and understanding of the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion, the ED ensures that the Board, staff, and committees reflect the makeup of the community and oversees programming, outreach, intake, and prevention.
This established position, in a growing yet stable agency, will be responsible for finances, programming, development/fundraising, a newly purchased facility, grant writing and ancillary programs.
Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Everett, Washington, we maintain the focus and mission of providing a 90-day shelter with local support services to resident children and their parents or caregivers, regardless of gender or ethnicity.
Interfaith has a strong place in the local community with multiple partnerships and a 30-year history of working with families with children. The ED will both maintain these partnerships and be active in the creation of new networking opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Has the skills to leadthe agency by inspiring others to achieve shared goals through effective leadership, communication, and grant funding.
- Set and implement strategic direction, engage in private and public fundraising, coordinate activities between internal staff, partner agencies, and the Board of Directors, and be able to make decisions that maintain the agency’s status as an essential program serving homeless families.
- HHHHHave a deep understanding of homeless issues, and their impacts, and be willing to be innovative in program development.
- Provide leadership, nurture collaborations across multiple disciplines, and be a key player in Snohomish County.
- Manage the existing intricacies of our internal budget management, funding streams, and audit while both soliciting and receiving new grant funding.
- Partner with various stakeholders including faith-based organizations, local government, businesses, and non-profits.
- Work to recruit new committee and board members while increasing our volunteer capacity.
Qualifications
- The applicant is fully able to promote stakeholder engagement and increase county, state, and private funding.
- BA/MA in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an area tied to the mission of housing the unsheltered.
- Demonstrated experience related to daily administration, operations, and activities including budget management, project coordination, and establishing/maintaining business and community relationships.
- Fundraising.
- Excellent oral, written and listening communication skills.
- Experience with budgets, audits, and finances
- Ability to strategize and prioritize tasks at hand
- Demonstrated commitment to both social and economic justice and affordable housing.
- Ability to interact with persons from diverse ethnic and cultural background.
- Strong project management capabilities including internal program evaluations.
- Supervisory experience
- Experience in marketing, public relations, and community education
The salary range for this position is $89,000-$100,000.
