The Intermountain Health Hospital System is seeking a Certified Therapy Medical Physicist for an opening in Grand Junction, CO. The physicist will join a team of 4 physicians, 4 physicists (including you), and 3 dosimetrists that cover 2 cancer centers on the Western Slope.

Scope
- Hospitals are currently equipped with all Varian linacs including three TrueBeams (one due for upgrade 2025) with ExacTrac or AlignRT, a GammaMed Plus HDR, and a Siemens CT (due for upgrade 2025).
- Citrix-based Aria R&V and Eclipse TPS including RapidPlan, MCO, and Velocity. Eclipse is supported by software from Radformation including ClearCheck, ClearCalc, Monte Carlo, EZ Fluence, AutoContour, and RadMachine.
- QA tools include a full suite of Sun Nuclear equipment including detector arrays, 3D and 1D tanks, and SunCheck QA software.
- Treatments beyond conventional include a robust SBRT and frameless SRS program, HDR brachytherapy, and radiopharmaceuticals (I-131, Y-90).
- Performs, documents, and provides documentation of calibration, maintenance, compliance testing, quality control and performance evaluations on all Radiation Oncology equipment, according to State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations to ensure licensure is maintained.
- Collaborates, advises, performs, and supervises treatment planning. Verifies all prescription calculations and notifies physician of any discrepancies.
- Reviews, changes, and writes policy and procedures periodically and formally review yearly. Observes established policies and procedures regarding department and hospital guidelines, quality control, radiation safety, environmental and infection control.
- Provides staff with in service and continuing education lectures relating to radiation safety and the implementation of new techniques or procedures and functions as a resource person.
- Informs, advises, and collaborates with department supervisors and radiation oncologist to assure patient safety and quality on a continual basis.
- Generates treatment plans utilizing computer isodose plans or manual calculations which achieve optimum tumor volume coverage as outlined in the physicians prescriptions and performs specific dose calculations on individual patients upon request.
- May perform as the facility Radiation Safety Officer.
- Supervises all aspects of brachytherapy.
- Ph D or Masters Degree in Medical Physics or DMP Degree required
- Board eligible by Therapeutic Medical Physics required
- Licensure in the state of practice as required
- For care sites in Colorado provisional RMP/QI/QE(t) required
- Five (5) years of experience in Medical Physics, preferred
