As the Social Media manager, you will lead the charge in shaping and executing Windstar’s dynamic presence across various digital platforms. As a key player in our marketing department, your role involves developing and implementing comprehensive social media strategies, overseeing content creation, and ensuring our 180-degree departure from the ordinary shines through in every engagement. You will lead the content strategy, analyze performance metrics, and collaborate across departments to align social media efforts with broader marketing initiatives. Your leadership skills will be crucial in maximizing the impact of our digital presence, and you will be responsible for mentoring and developing your direct report or team members. Additionally, you will play a critical role in monitoring social media, swiftly responding to engagement, and being a key player in emergency response matters for potential crisis situations.
Responsibilities
Strategy Development and Implementation:
- Develop and execute Windstar’s organic social media strategies, driving followers and engagement across both B2B and B2C platforms
- Define KPIs that align with business goals and analyze campaign performance metrics.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy, ensuring alignment with brand goals and target audience interests.
Content Creation and Coordination:
- Create and maintain social media content calendars for various social platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest
- Lead and collaborate with the content team to ensure a cohesive brand message.
Community Engagement
- Engage and respond to inquiries, comments and messages in a timely and professional manner
- Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions; escalate problematic conversations to appropriate internal teams to finalize responses in a quick and timely manner
- Track insights on sentiment, trends and customer feedback
Monitoring and Analytics:
- Execute a results-driven social media strategy with meaningful results (lead generation, website traffic, conversions, organic growth, user engagement) and create a monthly report
- Utilize social media and business metrics to analyze and enhance campaign outcomes, making data-driven adjustments as needed
- Stay informed about social media trends, algorithm changes, and industry developments.
- Utilize analytics tools to derive insights and make data-driven decisions.
Influencer Relations:
- Collaborate with the Head of PR on influencer strategy to enhance brand visibility.
- Oversee the development and management of an affiliate marketing program.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with marketing, public relations, and other departments to integrate social media into broader marketing initiatives.
- Ensure consistent messaging across all brand touchpoints.
- Partner with Crisis Committee and respond promptly and professionally to social media crises, protecting and enhancing the brand’s reputation.
Qualifications
- 5 years of professional experience as a Social Media Manager or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in social media analytics tools.
- Ability to monitor and respond promptly on social media platforms; Open to a flexible schedule to manage content outside of normal business hours
- Creative thinking and ability to generate innovative content ideas.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience with HootSuite a plus
