If you’d like to use your analytical and writing skills to help address two of the world’s most pressing environmental problems––air pollution and climate change––then this is a position you should consider. This internship provides students with the opportunity to enhance their current skills and to support their academic curriculum for careers in environmental and energy policy. The position will report to a researcher in the Heavy-Duty Vehicles program.
You Will:
- Contribute to research projects that analyze and communicate the adoption of zero-emission heavy-duty buses and trucks in the U.S.
- Gather information about heavy-duty vehicle sales and registrations from government documents and other sources
- Communicate with and obtain information from stakeholders internally and externally
- Contribute to creating and editing databases
- Help develop processes to consolidate data sources and standardize pipelines
- Produce statistics and visualizations that communicate the status of heavy-duty vehicle sales and policies in major vehicle markets
You Have:
- A strong academic record in policy, engineering, transportation, science, economics, or a related field in your current undergraduate or graduate program
- Interest in vehicle technology, sustainable transportation, climate change, air quality, energy, environment, public health, or related topics; familiarity with environmental and energy challenges in the transportation sector preferred
- Interpersonal and English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated experience collecting, effectively organizing, critically analyzing, effectively visualizing, and drawing insights from data; computer programming proficiency is a plus
- Ability to work independently and engage effectively with team members
Our Benefits
This is a full-time (40 hours/week), temporary position with a duration of 10 to 12 weeks. This position will be based in our San Francisco, CA office. This internship offers an hourly rate of $22.73.
