Director of Special Education- Immediate Opening

The International Leadership Charter High School is a high performing College Preparatory high school dedicated to providing an exceptional secondary school education to first and second-generation students to graduate college ready. The International Leadership Charter High School implements an academically rigorous Regents and college-preparatory curriculum that elevates students’ intellectual capacity, and provides a superior high school education. Our Charter High school is in the Top 1% High School out of 500 NYC Public High Schools and Recipient of Bronze Award from U.S. News & World Report for Best High Schools nationally 2013 through 2022. We are very excited to open our new Middle School next school year - SY2023-2024.

Role and Professional Duties:

• Planning, development and supervision of required program implementation for students with IEPS.
• Supervise and lead the program implementation of instructional support services in our SETTS model.
• Organize and coordinate all student IEPS, attend CSE Annual Review meetings and to assure our charter school's compliance with NYS SPED laws and regulations.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic
• Promote and support our charter school mission and goals
• Facilitate learning through masterful delivery of instruction and ensure all students with disabilities receive the services required by their IEPs. (Push-in and pull-out instruction for students receiving SETSS services
• Represent the International Leadership at meetings and hearings of committees on special education, including Student Intervention Team/Instructional Support Committee meetings and IEP team meetings for initial evaluations, reevaluations and triennials.

Qualifications:

• Masters Degree
• NYS Certification in Special Education K-12 required
• Five years of teaching experience preferred
• NYS Supervisory certification preferred but not required
• Knowledge of NYS Special Education regulations and services for SWD.
• Ability to work in a high paced charter school that requires high degree of accountability, personal initiative and social and emotional intelligence.

Salary: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
