Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented and data-driven individual with a passion for financial analysis? Do you have experience in Profit and Loss (P&L) analysis within the trading industry? If so, we are looking for a talented Junior Financial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in evaluating acquisitions, mergers, trade deals, investment returns on new assets and projects and gathering essential data analytics to support our financial decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquisitions and Investments: Run high level analysis to vet new opportunities that come across the CEO’s desk. Look at opportunities on a stand-alone business as well as integrated into one of our operating companies. Highlight and analyze potential opportunities and risks that are posed by the deal, as well as any synergies that can be gained through consolidation.
- P&L Analysis: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly P&L analysis on trading activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting. Identify and investigate any discrepancies or anomalies in P&L data.
- Data Gathering: Collaborate with various teams to collect and compile relevant data on trade deals, market conditions, and related financial metrics. Create and maintain comprehensive datasets for analysis.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to assess the profitability of trade deals and investment strategies. Analyze and interpret financial data to provide insights and recommendations.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare and present clear and concise reports on P&L performance, trade outcomes, and financial trends to senior management and stakeholders.
- Risk Assessment: Assist in evaluating the risk associated with trade deals and investments. Participate in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics tools and software to extract valuable insights from large datasets. Employ statistical techniques and data visualization to enhance decision-making processes.
- Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance data gathering, analysis, and reporting processes. Suggest and implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with relevant industry regulations and ensure that all financial activities and reporting comply with legal requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in P&L analysis within the trading industry.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and meet deadlines.
