The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role is a remote position focused on developing and maintaining peer-to-peer relationships with key medical experts. This role will primarily support the Endocrine/Thyroid related tests offered by Interpace Diagnostics. The MSL will collaborate with physicians and other medical experts to support clinical studies/research projects. In addition, the MSL will provide education to internal employees and external customers in support of the tests in market. The MSL is responsible for assisting with the development and execution of the Thyroid publication plan & clinical strategies in collaboration with the VP of Medical Affairs, the VP of Marketing, and the Science/R&D team members. This position will assist the Company in understanding the competitive landscape and identifying opportunities for new products and services that will enable Interpace Diagnostics to respond to competitive threats to the Thyroid business. In addition, the MSL will identify and work with KOL’s to ensure that Interpace Diagnostics has relationships with key thought leaders and physicians who are involved with the development of clinical practice guidelines for Thyroid Nodules/Cancer. The MSL will assist the Sales organization in identifying key/potential targets that are not currently doing business with Interpace and providing introductions to their respective Regional Account Managers. The MSL will assist in training the Sales organization on technical/disease state information as requested by the VP of Medical Affairs or the VP of Sales (THYROID). The MSL role requires 50% travel, including attendance at all major conferences.
Job Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s)
Develop an understanding of the regional landscape including specialties involved in care of patients
Develop and maintain peer-to-peer collaborations and relationships with key medical experts in the thyroid community
Support clinical development initiatives including identifying potential research opportunities, trial recruitment, registry, and presentation of data
Collaborate with internal scientific team and KOLs regarding medical affairs initiatives including publications, advisory board meetings, medical education opportunities, training, and speaker development
Serve as scientific “peer-to-peer resource” for external disease experts and internal stakeholders
Support the medical community with up-to-date medical information, and product/disease state expertise
Communicate clinical insights regarding new data to the VP, Medical Affairs and collaborate to inform medical strategy related to the thyroid molecular tests
Train internal stakeholders on key scientific and medical topics in relevant therapeutic areas
Maintain effective and appropriate communication among internal stakeholders while maintaining full compliance
Develop a system to strategically map, identify, profile, and prioritize thought leaders in line with the annual plan and goals
Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of MSL activities
Secure the voice of the customer/market intelligence through a network of key thought leaders in the industry
Market Research
Assist in the development and execution of market research efforts
Marketing
Work with Marketing to ensure accuracy of all promotional materials
Participate in planning and execution of key conferences and tradeshows to ensure maximum exposure
Sales
Provide support when additional scientific expertise is required
Introduce Regional Account Managers to key prospects/physicians within their respective territories
Provide sales training and other assistance to ensure the field sales organization is up to date on clinical data, competition, publications, etc.

Excellent written and oral skills
Ability to identify and work with Key Opinion Leaders
Maintain existing relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in the Molecular (Thyroid) market
Ability to engage and collaborate with other departments within the Company
Strong ability to learn technical and scientific material
Ability to help develop value proposition/marketing and sales support materials
Independent, self-starter willing to take the initiative with assigned projects
Must be a team player and manifest the Company’s core values in daily activities and interactions
IT/Technical Proficiencies: Ability to effectively utilize virtual platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams, Go-To-Meeting, etc. Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint required.
Education / Certifications
Education and/or Experience:
BA or BS required
MD, PhD, PharmD, RN preferred
5 years of experience
Experience in Endocrinology or Oncology desired
