Role:
We’re looking for a Financial Operations Manager to join our growing team. This role will work closely with our Senior Management and our Operations Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to lead finance/accounting at a medium-sized company and can lead to a much larger role as the company grows. The ideal candidate has excellent finance and operations management skills, strong attention to detail, and effectively communicates with external vendors and internal project managers while managing a multitude of financial tasks in a timely manner. Ideally, this position is on-site/in-person, but we will consider the possibility of remote work based on the experience and circumstances of each candidate.

A/P & A/R experience and reconciliation is necessary. Accounting degree and/or prior work experience in accounting or bookkeeping strongly preferred. NetSuite or similar enterprise financial management software experience also preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and finance requirements
- Own the financial processes for a medium-sized research company, including financial statements, senior management reporting, and project P&Ls across teams
- Close accounting periods
- Complete monthly reconciliations
- Manage A/R and A/P processes
- Care for accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
- Communicate with internal project managers to manage financial activity in NetSuite
- Assist with general bookkeeping filing as necessary, including organizing files and updating documents
- Maintain financial and data security by following internal procedures
- Manage the overall organizational processes of the finance and operations departments
Key Skills Needed
- Understanding of basic accounting functions (Debits/Credits, journal entries, accruals, account types, financial statements)
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to think both strategically and tactically which includes long-term planning and day-to-day execution
- Detail-oriented; ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, detailed correspondence, and billing documents
- Communicative; excellent communications skills to collaborate with team members to achieve established goals
- Experience with Netsuite
- Proficiency in Excel
- Accounting/Finance degree preferred
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping
