In short, as an IT Specialist, you will support the day-to-day IT operations of Interstate Engineering by troubleshooting and diagnosing PC and network-related issues. The role requires above-average multi-tasking with the ability to simultaneously answer calls and work tickets. Work includes updating software and firmware, office equipment, and system software and monitoring network performance and data. The IT Specialist maintains and improves the technical systems, ensuring the technology available meets the entire team’s needs to complete their work while securing organization files and information and keeping data safe and intact.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing diagnostics and assessing the functionality and efficiency of systems
- Monitor security certificates and company compliance with requirements
- Offer technical support to company staff and troubleshoot computer problems
- Install and update company software and hardware as needed
- Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computer items
Helpful Skills:
- Programming capabilities such as batch scripting, PowerShell scripting
- Knowledge in virtualization (VM Ware, Hyper V)
- Knowledge of storage area networks
- Knowledge of enterprise networking
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, a degree in IT, computer science, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Basic understanding of Windows file system, enterprise networking, and storage area networks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
