Collections Specialist

Responsibilities

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Collector to work out of our Teaneck, NJ headquarters.. The Collections Specialist is responsible for a number of tasks which include but are not limited to:

·       Place professional collection calls to customers with outstanding balances

·       Explain and review invoices and statements

·       Process and schedule credit card and ACH payments

·       Enroll customers in online portal

·       Email invoices and aging balance reporting

·       Provide cash forecasting to the collection manager for your assigned customer base

·       Apply payments/credits and debit memos

·       Approve or reject orders and remove accounts from credit cold

·       Create/schedule payment plans when needed

Qualifications

3 years’ experience required in Collections 

·       Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required

·       Strong reconciliation skills and knowledge

·       Billing/Invoice experience a plus

·       Cash application experience a plus

·       Strong ability to multitask and utilize 3 systems simultaneously

·       Spanish bilingual is a plus

·       Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook

·       Experience in Sanitation/Recycling Industry a plus

·       Fast learner with the ability to work well under pressure

·       Team Player with strong work ethic

·       Excellent customer service skills both written and verbal communication

·       Strong professional negotiating skills

·       Ability to handle heavy email/call volumes
