Electrical / Mechanical Technician:
Intramotev is seeking Electrical and Mechanical Technicians to join the manufacturing team for the assembly and delivery of its TugVolt and ReVolt self-propelled railcars. The role has a strong hands-on technical focus in the areas of both mechanical and electrical assembly. The position includes soldering, crimping, and component wiring per wiring diagrams, schematics, verbal instructions, and working with assembly of some mechanical and electrical components. This position will initially be primarily based out of St. Louis, MO. Travel could potentially be up to 50% of the time on short one/two week trips.

Position Responsibilities

  • Installing a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment on customer and prototype platforms
  • Operating, repairing, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment used during system development
  • Cable assembly
  • Mechanical assembly of platforms, frames, custom enclosures. Slight part modification/fabrication as needed
  • Prepare and create final product for shipment
  • Part inspection with basic tools
  • Troubleshoot and provide other support of fielded products over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Performing preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Promoting a safety first culture and a positive attitude while working in a team environment
  • Occasional heavy lifting, pulling, pushing, stooping, climbing, reaching, bending and working in awkward positions are required
  • Must be flexible, problem solving oriented, acceptable to change and display initiative to learn and make improvements in the workplace
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays)
  • Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting)
  • Experience with welding, cutting, and general fab work
  • Experience with product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs).
  • Experience with schematics (e.g., electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, relays).
  • Experience with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns).
  • Experience with reading mechanical drawings (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics).
  • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided)
  • Motivated, detail-oriented
  • Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment or as an individual contributor
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Rail experience preferred - Carmen / carman, locomotive or railcar maintenance or electrical

Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:

  • 3 years of hands-on experience as an assembly tech in an electronic or related manufacturing environment
  • Proficient soldering skills
  • An understanding of ISO Quality systems
  • Documentation, organization, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Understanding of adherence to ISO 9001:2015

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education at an accredited college (Associate degree), or a high school diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in field services

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
