SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This is a non-union, supervisory position responsible for coordinating all fleet services activities within INTREN’s operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work with Fleet director to administer policies and procedures governing fleet management operations that include strategic direction.
- Coordinate the development of a consolidated fleet maintenance center that is competitive with contracted services.
- Help Regional Equipment Managers coordinate a preventative maintenance program.
- Monitor Preventative maintenance programs and progress and costs through inhouse or third-party decisions.
- Monitor and direct fleet management information system pertaining to service-related items.
- Develop specifications necessary for the procurement of vehicle parts.
- Develop and implement Process and Procedure for Equipment repairs.
- Direct assigned employees in the completion of their responsibilities; set priorities, assign work to personnel, and set schedules for completion of work.
- Effectively recommend the hiring, transfer, suspension, or discharge of subordinate personnel.
- Establish work standards for all personnel and equipment types.
- Train personnel in correct and safe operating procedures.
- Effectively recommend adjustments or other actions in employee grievances.
- Delegate authority and responsibility to others as needed.
- Become a reliable resource for Operations to rely upon.
- Develop, by working with REM, and monitor the vendor and subcontractor onboarding process and procedure for all fleet related needs.
· Maintain existing national supplier relationships and develop new national supplier relationships, which includes negotiating pricing agreements and outlining upfitting requirements.
· Monitor analytical tools and KPI's to benchmark planning & logistics performance and to identify opportunities for improvement.
· Provide leadership and direct supervision of all regional fleet and maintenance personnel, which includes assessing talent and providing ongoing coaching and development and performance management.
· Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and organizational policies, and procedures.
· Lead, direct, and assign union and non-union employees in the completion of their responsibilities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Five plus years of Utility Fleet/Supply Chain related experience required.
- Customer service background with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of current trends and technological developments pertaining to vehicle operations and maintenance.
- Knowledge of applicable Department of Transportation Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Excellent computer skills in most Microsoft programs including Word and Excel.
- Must be highly organized, able to handle multiple tasks, and meet varying deadlines.
