Responsibilities
- Generate plans and coordinate with other trades
- Prepare and author complete project specifications
- Inspect, review, and prepare site inspection reports
- Interact with building owners, property management, architects, and members of design and construction team
- Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) checks of Level I projects
- Attend and support technical societies
- Define system requirements and basis-for-design requirements for design-build work
- Ensure designs meet all applicable codes and safety standards
- Provide construction cost opinions
- Field observation and reporting the progress of work
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering (with a Mechanical emphasis) or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Willing to obtain state of Kansas and Missouri Professional Engineer license
- At least 1-3 year experience in facility design and construction, preferably in markets such as healthcare, higher education, science and technology, and federal/state/local government.
- Excellent organizational, technical, communication (both written and verbal), and documentation skills and be capable of working in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Capable of researching, reviewing, and developing design criteria for variety of facilities
- Ability to professionally present technical issues to clients, receive feedback, and collaboratively develop solutions
- Self-starter who works well with others and likes being challenged
- Proficiency in working with design modeling software platforms such as Revit
- Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and manage responsibilities on multiple projects
- Ability to read, understand, and create construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
