Senior Software Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in Java, AWS and React to join our team. Come join the Web Application Security Team at Intuit. We manage the application security for all websites across Intuit, Credit Karma and MailChimp.

Responsibilities

• Managing the complete software development process from conception to deployment, across backend and frontend services
• Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning
• Acting as the technical lead for development projects: Mentoring fellow engineers and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems
• Demonstrate a passion for developing well architected, elegant cloud services and/or web applications
• Experience with Agile Development or SCRUM
• Roughly 40% hands-on coding
• Generate technical documentation to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and other stakeholders
• Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches
• Leverage GenAI to optimize software solutions where applicable
• Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams including: product management, various product lines, and/or business units to drive forward results

Qualifications

• 5 years experience as a Full stack developer
• 5 years experience designing, architecting and developing backend software systems in the cloud (AWS preferred)
• Proven experience in designing and developing scalable cloud services or web applications
• Proficient in Java and development of services in the Cloud, React (intermediate), Python (intermediate)
• Expertise with Object Oriented Languages and programming practices
• 3 years experience with RESTful APIs (designing and implementing preferred)
• Strong leadership experience: Leading meetings, presenting, and working with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Expertise with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Business Acumen - strategic thinking & strategy development.
• Building strong teams - set and evangelize vision, facilitative leadership, attract and retain key talent.
• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with GenAI tools is a big positive.
