Must have RN license, Associate's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), BLS within 30 days of hire

**Must have at least 2-3 years of acute nursing experience with preferably 1 years as a lead/charge/supervisor/manager in leadership AND MUST have strong OR experience (ideally with both adults and children and with a wide variety of specialties).

Job Summary:

Provides leadership and directs functions of assigned patient care area on a 24 hour basis; ensure effective delivery of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures.

What you will do in this role:

• Provides leadership and demonstrates responsibility and accountability for the delivery of safe, quality, patient care for assigned departments on a 24 hour basis. Ensures department's standard of nursing practice, nursing policies and procedures meet legal, and all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements."
• Directs the continuity of care through demonstrated use of interdisciplinary team approach to patient care. Collaborates and shares pertinent patient information with physicians, patients, and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient progress, and treatment.
• Develops and implements ongoing programs to measure, monitor, assesses and to improve quality of nursing care delivered to patients. Works toward hospital-wide improvement in meeting core measure, patient safety, and service excellence goals in assigned units.
• Ensures the effective coordination of the patient's care with other services and departments throughout the hospital.
• Ensures provision of quality care and services by maintaining appropriate equipment and supplies.
• Participates in rounding and proactively responds to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively impact overall patient experience.
• Fosters a culture of patient centered care by ensuring a quiet healing environment.

What qualifications you will need:

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors in Nursing preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred
• Florida RN licensure required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

General Comments

OR Manager

-515 licensed bed facility really large hospital with resort-like feel, chick-fil-a and subway in the cafeteria, nice outdoor seating outside of the cafeteria

-Local competitors are Baptist Hospital and Sacred Heart

-West Hospital is not a trauma center, but they do almost everything like ortho, neuro, open heart, etc. (just no transplants or burns)

-OR Manager reports to Director Surgical Services, then to COO

-Director has been with the facility for 4-5 years, but has recently been promoted to a bigger group within HCA so she is transitioning out over the next month or so

-Will oversee 14 ORs, about 35-40 cases per day and about 10,000 surgeries annually

-Manager has 1 day shift supervisor and 1 night shift supervisor, service line coordinators, RNs, surgical techs, and lead techs (team size of about 40-50 direct reports)

-Nursing staffing is stabilizing, but they struggle with travelers for the Surgical Tech positions

-Positive culture surgeons are very nice to work with and are very engaged!
