Job Description
In this role, the successful candidate joins the Intuitive Surgical’s HR Business Partner Team responsible for partnering across the commercial organization and assigned client groups. The HRBP will partner with the organization’s management teams and centers of HR excellence to assist in the implementation of HR initiatives, policies, procedures, programs, and employee relations, while establishing best practices and sustained scalability.
The HRBP will demonstrate proficiency in all functional areas of Human Resources to include performance management, policy administration and process development, employee relations, and talent acquisition and development. In addition, the successful candidate will fully develop an understanding of assigned business areas and represent the interests of those areas within the Human Resources group. They will work collaboratively with HR colleagues and department leadership to develop/maintain a culture that supports the company mission, vision and core values.
Specific responsibilities:
- Works closely with business partners and maintains strong and transparent partnerships across HR and assigned client groups
- Assists client group though the annual compensation planning program (merit, bonus, and equity process) and prepares data for final approvals with senior leadership
- Responds to employees and management inquiries on a broad range of issues and provides general guidance consistent with policy (i.e. straightforward employee relations issues, including coaching first time managers on the company values and general management expectations based on best practices)
- Advise people leaders ensuring consistent application and compliance with HR programs, policies, and initiatives
- Solid understanding of HRIS (HCM) and HR tools associated with a number of HR initiatives
- Provides coaching to frontline management on basic tools (i.e. HCM)
- Ensures timely posting of data transactions in HRIS systems and follows approvals from start to finish so effective dates are implemented
- Partners with Analytics COE to assess data for ongoing review of the organization and learns to customize or combine reports where applicable to achieve requested data results for HR and clients - audits data for accuracy
- Works with fellow HRBPs and COE members to address inquiries and identify opportunities to mitigate systemic issues - provides input and recommendation on process improvements.
- Assists in the analysis of feedback, related presentations, and may help facilitate meetings to review outcomes and develop action plans
- Proficient in creating reports to meet the needs of the business.
- May project manage a roll-out of a new aspect of an existing tool to fellow HR team members (e.g. new aspects of talent management) or even roll-out a new tool altogether (e.g., new socialization tool for use with the employee population)
- Manage the personnel and recruiting requisitions as needed
Qualifications
Skill/Job Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three to five years of experience in Human Resources; three years in a generalist role
- Demonstrated success in partnering with frontline leadership
- Ability to work in fast paced and constantly changing environment; technology company preferred
- Solid knowledge of employment laws and practices plus other government compliance regulations
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills; the ability to build and grow relationships across the organization
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills; attention to detail a must
- Resourceful and solution-driven; has an ability to operate with limited information and/or direction
- Excellent organizational and project/program management skills
- Ability to prioritize and seamlessly manage multiple tasks and requests from multiple sources
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
